Heute genau vor einem Jahr habe ich meinen ersten Artikel auf diesem Blog veröffentlicht. Heute feiert dieses, mein Blog also seinen ersten Geburtstag! Diesen Umstand nehme ich zum Anlass, um ein wenig Rückschau zu halten und, wie ich das nach 100 Tagen getan habe, eine Zwischenbilanz zu ziehen. Vielleicht gönne ich mir später am Abend sogar noch ein Gläschen Geburtstagssekt, wer weiß!

Lange habe ich es vor mir hergeschoben: Das Update der WordPress-Software auf meinem Blog – heute habe ich mich nun endlich dazu aufgerafft. Es scheint geklappt zu haben. Das Update von 2.2.1 DE auf 2.5.1 DE ist vollbracht! Vorher habe ich schnell alle verwendeten PlugIns auf den neuesten Stand gebracht und hinterher habe ich noch schnell Simple Tags installiert und die Tags vom alten PlugIn “Simple Tagging” importiert und mein Theme dahingehend angepasst.

Soweit scheint alles zu funktionieren. Falls jemand irgendwelche Eigentümlichkeiten bemerken sollte, darf er diese gerne als Bug-Report in den Kommentaren posten.

Vor ca. zwei Wochen machte mich ein Blogleser darauf aufmerksam, dass mein Blog spamverseucht sei (vgl. vorherigen Post). Inzwischen wird das Thema in der Blogosphäre heiß diskutiert (vgl. z.B. Basic Thinking, PHP Performance, Tom’s Diner und Webrocker). Über Webrocker bin ich auf einen sehr lesenswerten Artikel auf spam.weltretter.de gestoßen. Continue Reading »

Schon seit einiger Zeit blicke ich neidvoll auf die Blogs, bei denen Links zu Wikipedia eindeutig mit einem ‘W’ (das dem Favicon von Wikipedia entspricht) gekennzeichnet werden. So z. B. bei 49 Suns. Erfreulicherweise gibt es dort eine Übersicht der verwendeten PlugIns. Und mit Hilfe dieser habe ich dann das PlugIn ausfindig gemacht, mit dem man diese spezielle Kennzeichnung der Links bewerkstelligen kann: Link Indication Plugin von Michael Wöhrer. … exisitiert nun mein Blog. Für ein Jubiläum noch zu früh, die berühmte 100-Tage-Frist ist jedoch um. In der taz gab es einen guten Artikel über die 100-Tage-Frist:

Ursprung dieses Begriffs sind die 100 Tage zwischen dem 1. März und dem 18. Juni 1815, also zwischen Napoleons Rückkehr aus dem Exil und seiner endgültigen Niederlage bei Waterloo, wobei der Kaiser von seinen Gegnern bekanntlich nicht wirklich geschont wurde. Erst mit US-Präsident Franklin D. Roosevelt verwandelte sich der historische Bewährungszeitraum von 100 Tagen in eine “Schonfrist” von den drei Monaten, die es seiner Ansicht nach dauern würde, bis der Erfolg seiner radikalen Wirtschaftsreformen (“New Deal”) die damit verbundenen Zumutungen überstrahlen könne. Vom informellen Waffenstillstand zwischen Medien und Macht ist heute nicht viel mehr übrig als eine politische “Warmlaufphase” von 100 Tagen, nach der eine erste Leistungsbilanz fällig wird.

Ich bin zwar kein Politiker, nutze aber die Magie der Zahl 100 dennoch, um eine erste Zwischenbilanz zu ziehen:
